Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with a couple of selection from Aintree on day two of the National meeting...
"He is pretty much a confirmed front runner, and could have this field in trouble when the chips are down"
14:20 Aintree - Rouge Vif
I am going to take a chance with Rouge Vif in this fascinating contest.
This gelding put in a much improved effort when beating Windsor Avenue in a Grade 2 event at Kelso last month. He made all the running, and kept on strongly to win with plenty in hand. The water is deeper today, but I do not think we have seen the best of this likeable individual. He is pretty much a confirmed front runner, and could have this field in trouble when the chips are down. At present he is trading at 10.09/1 on the exchange which is more than fair.
Itchy Feet heads the market at 4.57/2 on the exchange. His third in the Supreme gives him a great chance, but broke a blood vessel in that race which gives cause for concern.
Min to boss his rivals
15:25 Aintree - Min
Min should make his presence felt in this high class event.
This smart performer was a little disappointing in the Champion Chase when finishing fifth to the great Altior. He did not settle as well as he should have, and eventually paid the price three from home. He has only run three times this term and should be relatively fresh. I think the real Min will show up today, and is fairly priced at 4.3100/30 on the exchange.
Politologue just got the better of Min to win this race last year, and will make another bold bid. He had a pretty hard race in the Champion Chase when finishing second, and may not be at his very best for this assignment. At present he is trading at 3.65 on the exchange.
