Betfair Ambassador Gordon Elliott has six Sunday runners at Limerick and Navan including Mega Fortune and Lieutenant Colonel...
"Ibsen sneaks into this off a great weight and also benefits from SP Davis 7lb claim. He's had two great runs so far this season after nearly a year off the track and I think he could run very well here today"
Mega Fortune contests the Maurice Power Solicitors Hurdle, a race we won last year with Missy Tata. He signed off last season with a great run in the four-year-old Champion Hurdle in Punchestown where he was beaten less than three lengths by Bapaume. With just three runners in this 2m2f contest and it would be hard to see him beat.
Burren Life is a fine big consistent sort who won well on his hurdling debut under Jack Kennedy at Roscommon last month in testing conditions, Jack gets a great tune out of him and retains the ride here today. He faces his biggest ask to date here and has more than a couple to beat but I expect him to show another good account of himself, he is a very honest and straightforward individual.
Rightdownthemiddle has been out of luck in recent runs, he wasn't in love with the heavy ground at Listowel and will appreciate the better ground here, on his best form he would be a major player in this but he'll need to improve on his recent performances and I can't see Turbojet being beaten.
Lieutenant Colonel returned from his summer break in great order, he steps back in trip and grade for this Rated Chase and of just four runners, bottom weight and ground conditions will suit but he has his work cut out for him all the same with three very strong rivals.
Jury Duty is a very dependable sort with a string of excellent runs behind him, he rarely finishes outside the money and has given his owners some great days out. Twiss Hill could be dangerous for him especially with her mares allowance and her having a run under her belt this season already but I would be confident of another great run from him in conditions that will suit him nicely.
Automated & Ibsen both represent us in the Irish Cesarewitch, the former, who will be partnered by Gary Halpin is a great little dual purpose horse who his owners have had some real fun with, 13th in this race last year when staged at the Curragh, Navan will suit him better - he won a Grade B Hurdle here at the back end of last year. Ibsen sneaks into this off a great weight and also benefits from SP Davis 7lb claim. He's had two great runs so far this season after nearly a year off the track and I think he could run very well here today.
