Paul Nicholls Distance Challenge: Dead heat lands punter £4,000
Ludlow was the venue for the first winner of the Betfair Paul Nicholls Distance Challenge
"One lucky customer predicted the correct combined winning distance of 43.75 lengths at Thursday’s Ludlow meeting giving himself a £4,000 bonus to his day’s punting."
The Betfair Paul Nicholls Distance has its first winner, but it took a dramatic dead heat at Ludlow to secure the £4,000 for the winning punter...
The challenge involves placing a qualifying bet and then guessing the total distance of victories during a day's racing. The weekly prize is £1,000 but after three rollovers, the prize pot rose to £4,000.
One lucky Betfair customer predicted the correct combined winning distance of 43.75 lengths at Thursday's Ludlow meeting winning the pot.
The punter's qualifying bet had been to lay Vamizi for £18 in the 3.55 at Carlisle. Vamizi went on to trade at 1.18 but, from facing a £135 loss, our customer came out in profit as Vamizi finished in second place by three lengths.
However, celebrations were put on hold until after the final race at Ludlow which ended in a dramatic dead heat, adding nothing further to the combined distance of 43.75 lengths for the meeting.
The Betfair Paul Nicholls Distance challenge begins again with a selected meeting on Tuesday and again on Thursday.
