Run at the Curragh since 2002, the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes, run over six furlongs for two-year-old's, has been farmed by the brilliant Aidan O'Brien for more than a decade and proved a fabulous betting opportunity for punters who like their bets to follow the strongest of trends.

O'Brien has won the race every year since 1998 (with the exception of 2004) a record that defies the odds but has had many a serious punter holding their bets through the summer season to see just what the Ballydoyle maestro will run in this prestigious event.

Amongst the great horses to have won in recent years and landed significant bets in the process, Fasliyev, Holy Roman Emperor and George Washington stand out. Keiren Fallon has won the last three runnings of the race, whilst Michael Kinane has partnered the winner four times in the last eight years.

Bloodstock partners Michael Tabor and Sue Magnier have won every running of the race for the last nine years and there will be plenty of people betting that they will make into double figures this time around.
