The Park Hill Stakes run at Doncaster over the St Leger distance of one mile, six furlongs and 132 yards is a historic and cherished contest on which to enjoy a bet.

Restricted to fillies and mares, the Group 2 event was first run in 1839 and is one of the oldest events on the racing calendar and very often is a hot betting heat.

In recent years three-year-old's have tended to land the odds for punters (14 wins from the last 20 runnings) but no trainer has managed to secure the race twice since Henry Cecil won the event four times in the 1990's.

With Cecil now back in the limelight, any runner saddled by the Warren Place handler is likely to attract plenty of interest both from odds compilers and the betting public at large.

Jockey Frankie Dettori has won the Park Hill Stakes three times since the mid-'90's, whilst Richard Quinn has taken the event twice in the same period, most recently aboard Mistle Song who won at odds of 8/1 in 1999.
