Just over half an hour before the stayers take centre stage on the Thursday of Goodwood's 'Glorious' meeting, the speed merchants will be attracting plenty of interest in the King George Stakes betting.

Starting at the top of the hill, the sprinters blast off in this Group 3 five furlong contest which has been won by some high class horses.

Last year La Cucaracha came in for plenty of support, justifying King George Stakes betting favouritism for Barry Hills.

Sprint king Dandy Nicholls has won the race twice in the last ten years and his runners are certain to be carefully considered by punters eyeing the King George Stakes odds.

Mick Kinane has also twice been on the mark on Irish trained runners in the last six years. Should he again team up with an Irish raider, he could attract interest whatever the King George Stakes odds on offer.

There is no serious draw bias, but it would appear that middle to low drawn runners have a statistically marginal advantage and that could be worth noting for anyone considering a King George Stakes bet.
