It's the penultimate day of the Glorious Goodwood festival and the Follow The Money team are back with their three recommended bets from a superb card...
Kicking off with the opener, where Ayrad has drifted out from [6.2] to [7.6]. He won nicely last time out at Sandown in Listed company, but he got his own way in front in a weak affair for the grade. This is a much tougher contest with Elite Army attracting support and the other market leaders holding firm. Furthermore, all Ayrad's better efforts have been on good or softer. A place lay at [2.26] seems a sensible low risk play.
Swiftly on to the 14.35, where Thikriyaat has been solidly backed from [4.0] into [3.5] this morning. His strength is also reflected in the weakness of second favourite Emotionless who has drifted significantly. The selection was second to Ribchester in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, and that form was boosted significantly when his conqueror was a very close up third in the Sussex Stakes on Wednesday. He has won all his other starts narrowly - always hinting that he is just doing enough and therefore there may be more to come. The step up to a mile looks a good move in terms of unearthing that extra improvement and a back bet is advised.
For our each way selection we turn to the 17.30 and Indulged, after she was punted in from [10.5] to [6.6]. Although disappointingly beaten on her most recent outing at Windsor, the setback leaves her handicap mark unchanged on 84. The soft ground most probably contributed to her poor showing, and on the form of her earlier maiden win at Ripon she appears fairly treated. She won tenaciously from Fastnet Tempest that day, who has since gone on to land a maiden of his own. The pair pulled eight lengths clear of the third, another subsequent winner. With four places available in the Betfair place market, she seems sure to give each way backers a run for their money.
Place lay Ayrad @ 2.26 in the 14.00 at Goodwood
Back Thikriyaat @ [3.5] in the 14.35 at Goodwood
