Newmarket's Cheveley Park Stakes, a Group 1 contest for two-year-old fillies run over six furlongs, is one of the betting highlights of the juvenile calendar in the latter half of the flat racing season.

The race tends to provide plenty of serious betting clues and is a decent guide to the odds and expectations for fillies in the next season's 1,000 Guineas. Many ante-post betting lists can be influenced by the impressive performance (or otherwise) of the winner of the famous Cheveley Park Stakes

Amongst the best recent scorers to have landed winning bets in the contest, Airwave (2002) and recent Royal Ascot heroine Indian Ink (2006) stand out, whilst three trainers, Jeremy Noseda, Mick Channon and Brian Meehan, have managed to defy the odds and land the coveted prize twice since 1998.

Frankie Dettori is the only jockey have won the race more than once since 1996, having triumphed aboard Regal Rose (2000) and Carry On Katie (2003). As always, there will be no shortage of bets on Frankie winning the Cheveley Park Stakes again.
