Wedding cakes on offer for Pink Bench proposals...

Betfair will be spreading the love by turning Ascot Racecourse pink on Saturday to celebrate the start of their new five-year, seven-figure sponsorship deal with the Berkshire track. And they aim to mark the St Valentine's Day occasion by adding a touch of pink sunshine with their "Perfect Match" themed day.

Any loved-up race goers planning to pop the question on Saturday should be aware that Betfair are offering a "Pink Park Bench" proposal. Propose to their partners on one of the two pink park benches at Ascot (see attached photos), and the exchange will pay for their wedding cake!

But for those singletons present, there is still an opportunity for them to find their "perfect match" and win tickets to the King George "Betfair Weekend" at Ascot in July.

Betfair will be giving out two caricatured separate flyers, one featuring "Kauto Star" and the other "Ruby Walsh", and all racegoers have to do is to find the matching flyer to claim their two tickets for the Ascot 24-26 July meeting.

And among other incentives for potential racegoers on the day, Betfair customers can visit the "Betfair Zone" by the Parade Ring and claim their free "Betfair Goodie Bag", which includes a beanie, scarf and gloves - all with a touch of pink, of course.

All on and off-course branding will be pink, as well as the number cloths, and winners rugs. And even the stable staff leading up horses have not escaped the pink look.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "We aim to make Saturday's race-going experience a fun and pleasurably pink day for all concerned, and we are even throwing in 2,500 packets of Love Hearts for good measure.

"In short, we have given Ascot a Valentine's Day mass-makeover."
