Timeform take you through the card at Epsom on Friday...
"...never stronger than at the finish, suggesting she should be even better over this two furlong longer trip..."
Timeform on Anapurna
14:00 - Mark Johnston has a good record in this race and MISTY GREY (2) looks another ideal type having left his debut form well behind when winning at Ripon last time, more clued up and putting up an impressive display to win by seven lengths. He powered clear in the style of one who can make his mark at a higher level and he proved himself effective on an undulating track. At the prices, he is preferred to Charlie Appleby's Pinatubo, who looks an obvious danger.
14:35 - A typically competitive renewal of this useful handicap and it could be worth siding with HISTORY WRITER (11) who returned to form back on firmer ground at Sandown last time. His early keenness was possibly the difference in a tight finish, not settling fully but making good headway out wide two furlongs out. The handicapper has left him on the same mark and another bold bid is on the cards. Greenside is another to consider having returned to winning ways at Windsor last time and is sure to be popular.
15:10 - LAH TI DAR (10) couldn't live with Kew Gardens in the closing stages of the St Leger last term, but she was still inexperienced in comparison at that point and arguably has more tactical speed than that opponent, so she has a big chance to turn the tables now renewing the rivalry over a shorter trip following a winning return. Old Persian is another obvious player if replicating his Dubai form.
15:45 - ELECTOR (5) made a successful return in a strong-looking Newmarket handicap and looks your typical older horse who will flourish for Sir Michael Stoute. The handicapper has raised him just 2 lb for that success, which could well underestimate him, and he looks a leading player. There should be more to come from Setting Sail and he's a big player. Mountain Angel took well to this unique course when winning a C&D handicap last month and could possibly defy his new mark in the 100s.
16:30 - John Gosden knows what it takes to win the Oaks and he has two very solid chances in this year's renewal in the shape of ANAPURNA (1) and Mehdaayih. Preference, however, is for the first-named, who is firmly on the progressive path now. She has improved in leaps and bounds in all three of her starts to date, very strong in the betting and justifying support when winning the Lingfield Oaks Trial by six lengths last time. Anapurna still showed signs of greenness on that occasion, never stronger than at the finish, suggesting she should be even better over this two furlong longer trip, and it is interesting that Frankie Dettori keeps the ride on her instead of switching to her shorter-priced stablemate. Aidan O'Brien's runners also command respect, especially Pink Dogwood, who has been towards the head of the betting for this race for some time now.
17:15 - SPACE BLUES (4) made a deep impression when winning his sole start last season and has improved with each start this time around, landing some nice bets when resuming winning ways in a useful handicap at York last time. He encountered considerable trouble on that occasion, too, and deserves marking up for that effort, forced to switch over two furlongs out and again short of room a furlong out. However, he was well on top at the finish and very much looks the one to beat back up in grade now.
17:50 - WAR GLORY (8) arrives in fine form, having broken his duck on turf at Lingfield on his penultimate start, and found only one too good in a tight finish at Sandown last week. Operating from the same mark, he should find the likely strong pace here in his favour and shades the vote returned to seven furlongs. Ripp Orf, Corazon Espinado and Love Dreams head up the dangers in a very open handicap.
