Royal Boy and Josses Hill gave champion trainer Nicky Henderson a one-two in the re-arranged Tolworth Hurdle at Kempton as hot favourite The Liquidator was well-beaten.
"I think you'd go two and a half at Cheltenham with (Royal Boy) whereas Josses Hill is more of a two-miler."
Tony McCoy came out on top on the Michael Buckley-owned Royal Boy, edging out stable jockey Barry Geraghty on Josses Hill by half a length.
The 11-8 favourite The Liquidator made the running but was a spent force when headed two and finished fourth of the five runners.
Trainer Nicky Henderson said after the race: "We all thought that looked a good Tolworth and you'd have to say I was impressed with both of them when they drew clear like that."
"I thought about running Royal Boy at Warwick in the two and a half (mile race) but I thought that would be an awful slog and he's not a slow horse."
The champion trainer suggested the winner's targeted might be over further should he race at the Cheltenham Festival, whereas the runner up may stay at the minimum trip:
"I think you'd go two and a half at Cheltenham with (Royal Boy) whereas Josses Hill is more of a two-miler."
Both Royal Boy and stablemate Josses Hill are both available at around 21.020/1 for their respective Cheltenham targets.
