High draws at Goodwood are only a negative in races over 1m or less. Over trips of nine furlongs to 16 furlongs, they are more profitable to back with a win percentage of 9.9% compared to low drawn runners at 7.7%. Today there are three races run further than 1m.
Jockey Rose Dawes will be out for compensation on Whistledown 7.06/1, who stumbled five yards before the line at Sandown to throw the race away last time. She will look for redemption in the 15:30 at Goodwood for trainer Mick Channon who won the race in 2017.
Trainer Mark Johnston is looking for his third win in four years in the 16:05 Handicap with Themaxwecan 2.9015/8.
Jockey Jim Crowley has just one ride at Goodwood in the finale at 17:07 on board Al Maan 6.511/2 for Shadwell and Sir Michael Stoute.
In the 13:40 at Leicester, Sir Michael Stoute has had a runner in each of the four runnings and has won the contest twice. Ryan Moore rides Ivigilate 3.02/1.
Three-year-olds have won four of the last five runnings of the 15:50 at Leicester. Ibiza Rocks 2.56/4 fits the bill and looks like a very well handicapped horse.

Race of the day
We head to Leicester for their 15:50 Join RacingTV Today Handicap, where a small field of four runners goes to post but there looks to be a handicap good thing at the top of the market.
Charles Hills looks to have found a grand opening for Ibiza Rocks to get off the mark for the season after bumping into a potentially useful rival on handicap debut at Sandown last time.
He pulled well clear of some hardened handicappers in the process, and a two pounds rise for that run looks lenient by Mr handicapper, especially given the balance of his form to date.
That was just his second start on turf, with the first a win at Newbury as a two-year-old when beating the now 92 rated Siam Fox and the 97 rated Beautiful Bertie.
This handicap mark of 86 should be well within reach on just his second start in a handicap, and connections book Ryan Moore (40% together at Leicester).
He has improved with each run and is open to further progress after just four starts, and he scored on his second outing after a break last season.
Revolutionise looks the biggest danger to Ibiza Rocks after running solid races on turf the last twice and is rated 12 pounds lower on turf than the all-weather for which his best form lies.
He is on a fair mark but looks vulnerable to an improving horse but may follow the above home in this scenario.
Bowman is another who has shown his best form on the all-weather, notably at Lingfield, for which a return to that level would see him tough to beat.
However, despite getting his head in front last time at Carlisle, he has not shown the same zest on turf, and his form is far inferior on balance.
He may get the run of the race in this small field, but even that may not be enough.
Timeform back at Galway to gain more cash
The Timeform team head out to Ireland for the second day in a row, and continue to claim the cash with their three best bets.
Ante-post St Leger Tip from Cleary
David Cleary has taken a look at this weeks Doncaster St Leger and has a selection against the short-priced favourite Hurricane Lane.
I am off to Goodwood for a jolly this afternoon, the first time I will be back on a racecourse since I went down with Covid in July, and I am looking forward to just getting back out! So keep an eye on my Twitter for some video action later on today.
Doncaster starts tomorrow, and the column will be mainly focused on that meeting as it was for Goodwood and York, so be sure to check this page out each day this week for all the invaluable information.
Until tomorrow, be lucky.
