Today's Racing News: Hold the front page a whopping gamble at Bellewstown 50/1 into 10/3

A big gamble has begun overnight at Bellewstown.

It's Friday, and the weekend is just around the corner, but first, some excellent racing as Daryl Carter talks you through and highlights today's big Irish gamble.

"A six-race maiden who ran as recently as yesterday at this venue and caught the eye after a denied passage at odds of 100/1."

There is plenty of action for punters to get stuck into today and earn that cash for England's Saturday night Euro 2020 quarter-final.

Today's potential withdrawals come from Doncaster, Newton Abbot, Sandown, Bellewstown, Wexford, Haydock and Beverley.

But first, where's that punter money going?

Money Talk

Money Talk continues to highlight the Betfair Sportsbook big-money moves to keep you in the loop. This section will now highlight market moves between 1:00 am and 9:00 am.

14:45 Doncaster - Muker 8/1 into 6/1
17:10 Sandown - Zlatan 8/1 into 11/2
19:30 Bellewstown - Enquire Within 50/1 into 10/3

A considerable gamble is taking place in Ireland as Enquire Within has been heavily backed overnight from 50/1 into 10/3 touched 11/4 on the Betfair Sportsbook.

A six-race maiden who ran as recently as yesterday at this venue and caught the eye after a denied passage at odds of 100/1.

He is turned out quickly for trainer Miss Maura McGuinness and punters have not held back. He is dropped back two and a half furlongs in trip for today's similar graded race.

The market says no!

Which horses at the head of the market are on the drift on the Betfair Sportsbook this morning?

13:20 Newton Abbot - Fama Et Gloria 6/4 OUT 2/1
14:45 Doncaster - Jawwaal 15/8 OUT 5/2
16:40 Sandown - General Zoff 9/2 OUT 6/1

Mark your card - Friday

The Betfair Sportsbook is paying extra places on eight races across the cards on Friday and you can see them here.

Haydock head on 1280x720.jpg

There have been two good previous winners of Doncaster's 13:35 Download The At The Races App Novice Stakes and both went on to run in Group company on their next start, including the Group 1 St Leger.

Over to Haydock and trainer Mark Johnston is looking for a four-timer in the 19:38 Irish EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes, a race he won with Dubai Fountain last term, he saddles Out In Yorkshire 5/2.

For those that love the names of horses will perhaps find - We Still Believe - fitting who runs in the first at Haydock 17:35.

Trainer Ralph Beckett has travelled the furthest on the furthest on the Beverley card (241 miles), and has the well supported Rhebus Road for the 20:25.

Goodwood Festival clues at Sandown

Sandown ground level finish 1280.jpg

Sandown's 14:20 Coral Dragon Stakes is a must-watch for those hoping for a good punting session at Goodwood later in the month.

Winners of the race that have gone on to run in the Goodwood Molecomb Stakes have form figures of 1, 7, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2.

Elsewhere on that card, 14lbs is the weight allowance that three-year-old's get in the 16:40 Davies Group Handicap, so it's no surprise they have a 33% record - three winners from ten runners - look for those well-fancied in the market - Classic Lord?

Over at Wexford in the 18:45 Download The BoyleSports App Beginners Chase, Embittered, once well fancied for the Grand Annual at Cheltenham off a handicap mark of 146 is still eligible to contest a Beginner's Chase given his zero for six record.

Race of the day

Sandown's tricky five-runner 16:05 Davies Insurance Services Gala Stakes is where we focus our attention, there is a distinct lack of pace in this contest but hopefully, I can shed a little light on the race.

Three-year-old John Leeper heads the market and has been a popular selection for many despite his latest flop in the Epsom Derby.

He looked highly progressive before that run and visually impressive when scoring at Newmarket and Newcastle.

This is a different ball game, though, and his price is awfully short, considering his bare form has taken a fair few knocks, and he now comes up against proven older horses.

The drop back in trip could be a good move until he learns to settle, but this is tougher than the market is suggesting, and his price is awfully short on the balance of his form.

Euchen Glen is continuously underestimated, and he was better than the bare result at Royal Ascot in the Wolferton Stakes under a six-pound penalty for which he had today's rival Fox Tal in behind for the second time as well as Father Of Jazz.

His Brigadier Gerrard romp here on his penultimate start was a devilish display, and although burdened with top weight, he should almost certainly be favourite for this on what he has achieved.

Despite the gelding operation and the application of the hood, Fox Tal still has failed to settle in the early part of his races, and after a once-promising three-year-old campaign, he now has plenty to find.

His quirky profile is off-putting, but he does have the talent to win this if on a going day.

Tip alert

I am happy to advise a bet on Euchen Glen in the 16:05 Davies Insurance Services Gala Stakes at 3.02/1 or bigger. He wouldn't look out of place in the Coral-Eclipse tomorrow, and this looks a much softer option.

John Leeper has to be respected, but the potential is very much built into his price, and he does need to bounce back from a poor effort at Epsom.

The selection has no question marks and has beaten two of these already.

He has led in the past and will prove tough to beat if getting a soft lead over this trip and dictating the fractions.

That could see the favourite use up plenty of energy early on, so this could be another opportunity for Euchen Glen to score.
