Windsor looks the pick of Monday's turf action.

It's a brand new week, and what a belter we have in store with the York Ebor Festival just around the corner. First, though, Daryl Carter is on hand to walk you through Monday...

"York course form is one of the most underrated angles at this meeting, so be sure to be here Wednesday through to Friday as we offer up invaluable info for the Ebor Festival."

It's time to build that Ebor bank, and Monday's racing comes from Lingfield on the all-weather and Catterick on the turf this afternoon. Roscommon this evening is your Irish meeting, and Windsor and Bangor-on-Dee host flat and jumps action.

Catterick's opener 13:45 Like Racing TV On Facebook Nursery Handicap has been won by trainer Tim Easterby twice from three runners in the last ten years, including last year.

Both horses were unfavoured by the market, including an outsider of the field. Today he has Bay Breeze 10.09/1.

In the 14:55 Watch Racing TV Now Handicap at Catterick, trainer Adrian Nicholls has form figures of 3, 1, 3, 3 with his three-year-olds at the venue and saddles handicap debutant Iyaa 15.014/1

Useful 123 rated jumps horse First Account 4.03/1 will make his flat debut for trainer Keith Dalgliesh in the 16:05 Millbry Hill Novice Stakes at Catterick.

Seneca the Lingfield good thing?

At Lingfield in the 15:50 Racing League On Sky Sports Racing Handicap, Seneca Chief 2.01/1 is under a four-pound penalty but is actually only one pound higher than when scoring at Salisbury and takes a drop-in class.

Only Oisin Murphy and William Buick have a better strike rate than Jack Mitchell in the last 14 days.

He has been more profitable to follow to the tune of £136.16 to a £1 level stake. He has three rides at Windsor, 17:55 Han Solo Berger, 18:25 Chinook and 18:55 Glen Esk.

McCain out for three-timer but Hughes hint suggests lay

Trainer Donald McCain is looking for a three-timer n the 18:05 Book A Wedding At Bangor-On-Dee Handicap Hurdle with Cousin Oscar 5.04/1.

However, Brian Hughes has ridden for the past two successes, but he prefers Hurricane Ali 3.02/1, which could be a tell, tell sign of what to expect. Lay bet?

Trainer Dan Skelton has just the one runner on the Bangor card tomorrow and will look to land back to back success in the 19:35 Paddock Restaurant Mares' Handicap Hurdle with Simply Loveleh 8.07/1.

Awful name for a horse. Just listen to the commentator when he says it, eh.

Race of the day

The opening race at Windsor, the 16:50 Eden Grove Berkeley Homes Handicap, looks like a tricky contest but worth looking at because there are potential improvers in the field that have been overlooked in the market, and this is a race that I have backed two in.

Pinball Wizard threw his chance of shedding his Maiden tag last time at Leicester when he hung away from the whip but finished with running left once straightened up.

That was a step in the right direction dropped to this six-furlong trip for the first time on turf, and he is bred to be a good deal better than this handicap mark of 59.

This trip could now unlock further improvement, as could the first time blinkers given the evidence of his latest effort, and he is one of two I have had a punt on.

The other I have bet is Media Guest, who is completely unexposed and a chancy bet granted, but he looked in desperate need of quicker ground on his first two turf runs as a two-year-old in races that have worked out well.

He threw in a poor run when last seen in April on the all-weather but ran so wide on the course it can be easily forgiven. He's since been gelded and off for 116 days, but the handicapper knows where he is with most of these and has played a guessing game with this one.

He is not short of ability, and this mark of 72, given he has been beaten by horses on turf rated 104, 81 and 82, could underestimate his ability.

There is not many I would fear in this race other than Coco Bear, who put in an excellent performance at Brighton last time and is still relativity unexposed and is now two for five on turf.

He could still be ahead of the handicapper, but the drying ground has to be a concern for him, with his best efforts coming with juice in the surface.

He is improving, and if all is well after 41 days off, he can fill the tricast spot.
