No such thing as a sure-thing? We wouldn't be so sure...
There is no magical 'system' for winning on horse racing. However, with a bit of clever thinking and basic mathematics anyone can turn the four days of Cheltenham into a risk-free betting experience.
During the week bookmakers will be falling over themselves to get your money. Enhanced prices will be fired out every day and you can take advantage of this and lock in a profit regardless of the end result.
Not convinced? Well here's how it's done...
So what exactly is 'arbitrage', commonly known as arbing?
• Arbitrage is the backing and laying of bets to create a zero or low risk position
• Typically this is achieved when the Betfair Exchange market has moved quicker than the traditional bookmaker price. However, this will also be the case when a bookmaker offers an enhanced price that is bigger than the 'Lay' price on the Exchange.
Here's a hypothetical example:
Or how about this for a real life example - the Scoop6 punter who guaranteed himself a huge profit by laying his selection on the Exchange.
So keep an eye on the enhanced prices being offered and compare them to the Betfair price - if you can back high and lay low you're in the money!
