Champion Chase Antepost Betting: Bullets fired into third favouritism after defeating Sprinter

Dodging Bullets holds off Sprinter Sacre

Sprinter Sacre was defeated on his long-awaited return to action and the Paul Nicholls-trained winner of that race has been slashed in antepost betting on the two mile chase at Cheltenham

Dodging Bullets is the 7.06/1 Champion Chase third favourite after defeating Sprinter Sacre in the Clarence House Chase at Ascot today.

Paul Nicholls' Tingle Creek winner, backed at 15.014/1 in-play on the Betfair Exchange, passed Nicky Henderson's star chaser on the turn for home and held off his lauded opponent to the line. Sprinter Sacre was making his first appearance in more than a year after he was found to suffer a heart problem but clearly retains at least some of his old ability and managed to come home best of the rest. The 2013 Champion Chase winner is still favourite to win this year's race but has been eased to 3.55/2 on Betfair's Sportsbook antepost market. Splitting Sprinter Sacre and Dodging Bullets is current champion Sire De Grugy (5.04/1).
