Alan Dudman fired in Secret Agent yesterday as a winner, and he heads to Salisbury with two more bets for Wednesday....
"As a 3yo taking on some exposed older horses, Champs De Reves can still improve with the step up in trip today."
Candy's mare to enjoy a return to Salisbury
15:40 Salisbury - Back Chain Of Daisies @ 4.507/2
It was nice to get Secret Agent home yesterday as a winning selection at Nottingham. Having advised him at 3.505/2, he drifted out to a staggering 9/1 at one point pre-race. A win's a win, though.
And that's what I am hoping for with Chain Of Daisies for today's feature Upavon Stakes - a race she won in 2016.
There are no secrets with this big mare. She has to have quick ground and stays 1m2f well with a great attitude. Indeed, she's a bit of a scrapper in a finish and is the best horse in this race on official figures on 110.
Her trainer Henry Candy is having a quiet season with just 14 winners so far, but hopefully that can change with Chain Of Daisies - who has often been talked about as a Group-class type.
This is a drop in class for her, but she hasn't fired in two runs this season. It took her a couple of runs to get going last term - so that's a potential angle to keep the faith.
Champs to be the champ at new trip
16:10 Salisbury - Back Champs De Reves @ 4.507/2
Trainer Marcus Tregoning might have found a nice opening here for Champs De Reves - who runs in a confined handicap for horses that haven't won on the Flat for a year.
He'd been backed slightly on the Sportsbook last night, too, from 4/1 to 7/2.
As a 3yo taking on some exposed older horses, Champs De Reves can still improve with the step up in trip today. He's by Champs Elysees, and his stock tend to improve for time
and an emphasis on stamina.
The selection races over 1m2f for the first time at a stiff track, and he'll be fitter for his comeback run at Lingfield 18 days ago.
