Alan enjoyed his third winner of the week yesterday with the easy success of Berkshire Royal at Wolverhampton. He sticks with the all-weather once again for Wednesday's action...
"She is a fairly solid horse around Kempton, and went close from marks of 57 and 58 earlier in the year. After all, she was rated 72 a year ago - so she is well treated and takes a slight drop down in class from her latest run."
Scoones looks a tasty bet over 1m4f
This looks a fairly competitive 0-75 handicap over 1m4f, and the new trip could unlock some improvement in Scoones. He can be backed at around [6.0], and there was a bit of support for him on the Sportsbook last night.
He won a race at the track over 1m2f last September, and landed that with plenty in hand from a mark of 65. There is still a bit more to come from him too considering he is trying today's trip for the first time, and he still remains unexposed on the all-weather.
Scoones shaped like he badly needed the run last time at Chelmsford, and we'll see a fitter horse today.
The 4yo is still fairly treated with potential.
Ferro to go well at Kempton again
Porto Ferro's profile of wins-to-runs ratio isn't the greatest, but she has a chance in this despite her 1-19 record. She is a fair price at [11.0].
The 4yo has been a touch unlucky in her latest two races. At Lingfield she was ridden too handily in a race that suited the closers, and she travelled quite well at that track previously but was denied a clear run with a furlong to go.
She is a fairly solid horse around Kempton, and went close from marks of 57 and 58 earlier in the year. After all, she was rated 72 a year ago - so she is well treated and takes a slight drop down in class from her latest run.
Hopefully she'll have the race to run to suit; as a strongly run 6f would be ideal.
