Nick Shiambouros returns with a couple of strong fancies from Taunton and Wolverhampton...
"He appears to be improving with racing and I have backed him at his current price of 3.8514/5 on the exchange"
13:45 Taunton - Board Of Trade
Board Of Trade is worth an investment in this intriguing race.
This gelding put in a decent effort when finishing third to Champers On Ice at Newbury last month. He held every chance three flights from home, but could only stay on at one pace when the pace lifted.
He appears to be improving with racing and I have backed him at his current price of 3.8514/5 on the exchange.
The talented Modus is trading at 1.674/6 and is the obvious danger to the selection. He won his second race over hurdles when scrambling home against Charmix at Newbury last month. He looked in trouble on the run to the last, but found plenty under pressure and got up to score near the line.
I think he has developed a few quirks and does not appear to be completely straightforward. He has plenty of ability, but has to concede weight to his rivals and his price is way too short.
19:10 Wolverhampton - Monein
Monein should go close in this competitive handicap.
This New Approach gelding was last seen in May when finishing down the field in a handicap at Newbury. He was never in the hunt and weakened out of contention a furlong from home.
He has had his issues in the past, but has some decent form on artificial surfaces. I do not think we have seen the best of this lightly raced individual and is well worth an interest at his current price of 3.185/40 on the exchange.
In addition the Appleby yard is in good form which is an added bonus.
Berlusca is worth a mention. He finished a creditable third to Demonstration over this course last month and appears to be running in to form. He is worth a saver at around his current price of 8.07/1.
