One of Alan's selections was a non runner yesterday while his best bet of the day finished third. Today he has selections from Lingfield and Newbury...

"Welease Bwain, has been running well in class 4/5 races all season so the drop in class should be appreciated by the six-year-old."

Stuart Williams has been in great form of late with four winners and three placed in his last 16 runners and with Welease Bwian now competing in a Class 6 event thanks to the handicapper, I can see him running a big race. On board is Aaron Jones who has had two winners and two places in his last five rides and taking off a handy 5lbs, he is more than capable of getting this home.

Welease Bwain, has been running well in class 4/5 races all season so the drop in class should be appreciated by the six-year-old. He has won six races from 5f to 6f including four wins on polytrack and although finishing fifth on his latest start he was only two and a quarter lengths behind Dougan over this course and distance last month.

12:55 Ludlow - Skylander @ 7.06/1 Exchange

Skylander won at the first time of asking over fences in a 2m4f novice handicap chase at Hexham off a rating of 120 in October. Prior to that he has been a winner of a point-to-point in Ireland and he has been plying his trade successfully over hurdles. In his four chase starts he has won once been placed in two and finished fourth of seven in the other.

After his win at Hexham, David Pipe was quoted as saying "he will stay further than 2m4f" but as yet he hasn't won beyond that distance. On his last three chase starts, he has gradually been asked to go a bit further, running over 2m6f, 2m7f and last time 3m1f but today he returns to his only winning chase distance so far 2m4f. His undoubted stamina and the claims of his trainer could still be an asset though, as he should be staying on at the finish despite this energy sapping, rain softened ground.
