It's Newcastle and Musselburgh for Alan Dudman on Tuesday, and he is banking on a sprinter returning to form in a big way.....
"There are two confirmed front-runners in the field, and that should suit Tim Easterby's sprinter, as he seems best when chasing a bit of speed."
Attraction can return to winning ways in north east
13:40 Newcastle - Back Instant Attraction @ 8.07/1
It's been quite a while since Jedd O'Keeffe's Instant Attraction won a race, but he's handicapped to strike at present and is worth backing at decent odds of 8.07/1.
Last year he competed in some good handicaps, but couldn't find any sort of form. In fact he started out racing in 2017 from a mark of 99, therefore today's figure of 78 makes plenty of appeal.
His latest run came after a wind op, and he shaped well behind Party Fears Too in a competitive race over course and distance. He possibly might have been inconvenienced by racing over the far side, but he was only beaten by half a length.
The trainer's horses are running reasonably well too.
Easterby sprinter set for a going day?
15:25 Musselburgh - Back Computable @ 4.2016/5
I've not exactly had a good time of it lately with weather forecasts in Scotland. A couple of backs this week at Hamilton and Ayr have not gone according to plan, so I am sticking with good to firm ground on Tuesday - and that's exactly what Computable needs.
He's very in-and-out, but then sprinters can be. He holds a perfectly symmetrical record this season of three good runs and three bad ones.
The bad came last time at Chester when he dropped away quite quickly, but he was a winner on his previous start at Chester - and that was a slightly stronger grade than today's. He also finished second last year in a 0-95.
There are two confirmed front-runners in the field, and that should suit Tim Easterby's sprinter, as he seems best when chasing a bit of speed.
