After a blank day yesterday Nick Shiambouros is serving up a tasty double from Salisbury...
"I think he is open to significant improvement and will be difficult to beat"
14:00 Salisbury - Dal Harraild
Dal Harraild should open his account in this maiden.
This Champs Elysees colt created a favourable impression on debut when finishing fourth to Manaafidh. He made good progress two furlongs from home, and finished the race with good energy without being knocked about.
Evidently he is held in high regard at home and holds a Royal Lodge entry.
I think he is open to significant improvement and will be difficult to beat. He is trading at 1.784/5 on the exchange and I will be backing him in a double with Rive Gauche in the 15:00.
15:00 Salisbury - Rive Gauche
Rive Gauche is the clear form pick in this event.
Tipping a filly that was turned over at odds on last time out may appear risky, but there is a simple explanation. She clearly did not stay when finishing second to Shoal at Nottingham last month.
Prior to that defeat she ran very well when finishing down the field behind Osaila in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot. She kept on really well in the closing stages, and was not beaten all that far.
The return to a mile is exactly what she needs and should provide another winner for the Haggas stable.
She is trading at 1.715/7 on the exchange and represents the second part of the double.
Saguna merits some consideration. She finished a decent second to Bella Lulu at Doncaster last month but has plenty to find with the selection.
21:20 Chelmsford City - Bertie Blu Boy
Course specialist Bertie Blu Boy will make a bold bid to win his fourth race round here.
This uncomplicated gelding will blast out of the stalls in an attempt to make all, but could be vulnerable to a closer. He has shot up in the weights after winning here in April and I am going to take him on in running.
I will try to get him matched at 2.01/1.
Tuesday's Recommended Bets
Back Dal Harraild in the 14:00 @ Salisbury and Rive Gauche in the 15:00 @ Salisbury in a double.
Lay Bertie Blu Boy in running at 2.01/1 in the 21:20 at Chelmsford City
