Bets Of The Day: Trimoulet can be traded at Chelmsford City

A small profit yesterday thanks to Atalan's victory, and Alan Dudman wants to boost the bank in preparation for York this week with a few selections on the all-weather...

"His best trip is 1m4f, and he tries a new distance on Tuesday night. Added to the fact he is going back up in grade with a penalty means he could be worth using as the beetle bet."

Back-to-lay Trimoulet from 3.45 to 1.804/5 for stake back in the 20:20 at Chelmsford

14:45 Kempton - Place Lay Kazziana

I've been wanting to get at Kazziana on her second start for a while. She has been entered up before, so I'm pleased we won't have any ground issues to worry about on Tuesday - and another helping of all-weather fixtures.

This has been a plan for me. Kazzia, her dam, was sheer quality, but she produced a horse called Moonsail a few years ago that didn't kick on from a debut defeat.

Obviously it is very early days, and no horse should ever be written off after one start. But if you can grab the beginning of the downward spiral it can pay dividends - and a place lay here is not going to be too damaging if it fails.

Kazziana made her debut at Nottingham and I didn't like her finishing effort as she didn't find much in a battle. She could improve for the switch to a different surface but it's the time to take her on.

16:15 Kempton - Back Mulzamm

Apologies for making this Godolphin-heavy, but I focus on quite a lot of their horses, and the fact they have so many runners from August through to October, means we have quite a lot of options.

Mulzamm has been headstrong, and that tendency ruined his chance of winning over 6f at Leicester on his most recent outing.

He'll be better suited here with a larger field (14 at the time of writing and the highest number of opponents he has had to face). Returning to 7f should also benefit, as they pottered around in that Leicester contest.

Jockey William Buick has said previously the horse likes to "get on with things", so I wonder what the plan will be from stall nine?

He's one of the younger brigade in the race, and won his maiden at the track by quickening.

20:20 Chelmsford - Back-to-lay Trimoulet

I'll throw in a back-to-lay trade here, as Trimoulet is the type to duck under his BSP in-running. Aside from his three victories, the horse has been matched shorter during the race on all six occasions when defeated.

His best trip is 1m4f, and he tries a new distance on Tuesday night. Added to the fact he is going back up in grade with a penalty means he could be worth using as the beetle bet.

Tuesday's Recommended Bets

Place Lay Kazziana @ 1.608/13 in the 14:45 at Kempton
Back Mulzamm @ 7.6013/2 in the 16:15 at Kempton
Back-to-lay Trimoulet from 3.45 to 1.804/5 for stake back in the 20:20 at Chelmsford
