The well-backed Hitman was Alan Dudman's third winner of the week yesterday, and he signs off in profit from his latest stint with two bets for Thursday...
"This horse stays well and acts on decent ground. He likes Perth too with four course and distance victories and a Kilmany Cup around here to his name."
Filly to make her mark against elders
This handicap has a handful of three-year-olds taking on their elders, and one of the younger brigade is my bet for this 7f race in the shape of Sosian.
She's a lightly-raced filly with just one start this season. That came at the end of May and she looked as though she needed that outing - her first since September 2017.
Her juvenile efforts make her interesting here at decent odds, as she showed a bit of ability at York over 5f. She was a little bit outpaced in that and looked quite a green juvenile. The step up in trip here to 7f should suit her.
She can certainly build on her reappearance two months ago.
Kid to make a comeback after Stratford defeat
The Tom George veteran Kilbree Kid should go well at a decent price, especially as this looks a winnable 0-130.
Kilbree Kid has been running in Hunter Chases for the trainer's son Noel, and he landed a 3m2f race at Kelso in May with a fair bit in hand. He certainly built on his previous run
in terms of fitness.
Ignore his effort at Stratford last time in the Horse And Hound Cup on the course's big night due to the watered ground - horses were finishing very tired that night. There were a few surprising results that evening. He is an interesting proposition back handicapping.
