Alan Dudman signs off for the week with a pair of bets at Aintree and Chelmsford...
"However, his form in 2017 makes him of interest here. He won a decent prize at Beverley from the front, and ran a blinder behind Defoe in a strong race at York."
Ground no issue for Doran
Bun Doran finished third in this race last year from 139, and he runs from the same mark for the Red Rum Handicap Chase - and it looks as though the wet spring will aid his chances.
He can be backed at [9.0].
The 7yo usually travels well, and looked a big danger last time in a decent contest at Kempton over 2m5f before emptying slightly. That was his first run for 63 days, and he looked as though he just might have needed the outing.
Previously he put up a good show earlier in the season at Cheltenham - where again he travelled well.
If the ground is testing, it will really suit Bun Doran, as will the drop down in distance. His mark is appealing too considering he was rated 138 over hurdles.
Big price appeals for tough Fahey runner
I am going to take a bit of a punt on Richard Fahey's Society Red - and he is a big price for the race of the evening on the all-weather.
The 4yo was ultra-tough last year and ran 11 times - and tonight's 1m2f trip will suit, as he looks the type that will stay a bit further.
However, his form in 2017 makes him of interest here. He won a decent prize at Beverley from the front, and ran a blinder behind Defoe in a strong race at York. Defoe is rated 113 and subsequently won a Group 3. Society Red certainly never gave up in that, and ran on really well to the line.
This will be his first run of the year, but he won on debut as a juvenile, so hopefully he'll go well fresh. His draw could be better from nine, but we'll take it on the chin for his Polytrack debut.
