Bets of the Day: Jellicle to be Belle of Goodwood Ball and look for Richard to reign at Sandown

Lord Lloyd-Webber's filly to out perform her rivals at Goodwood
Lord Lloyd-Webber's filly to out perform her rivals at Goodwood

Alan Thompson is looking for Jellicle Ball to return to the winner's enclosure at Goodwood, and Richard of Yorke - who had his form boosted on Wednesday - to go well at Sandown, presenting a good back-to-lay opportunity...

"One mile two furlongs looks an ideal trip and John Gosden has been bang in form all season."

Back Jellicle Ball 16.25 Goodwood at EVS on the Sportsbook

16:25 Goodwood - Jellicle Ball

This filly, owned by Lord Lloyd-Webber, was second in the Fred Darling behind Redstart and although disappointing on her re-appearance in the 1000 Guineas she can get her season back on track here.

One mile two furlongs looks an ideal trip and John Gosden has been bang in form all season. I accept the even money available isn't a huge price but that will still look value come 16:30.

19:35 Sandown - Richard of Yorke

Richard of Yorke looks an ideal back-to-lay candidate. He won his maiden well at Windsor last time despite trading as high as 210.0209/1 in running, having come from last to first to win cosily at the finish, and the second that day came out and won his maiden yesterday by 15 lengths!

Currently available at 6.25/1 to back he should easily trade at 4.03/1 or shorter. At which point I will be looking to recover my stake leaving a free bet, Luca Cumani's stable is in form and one mile two furlongs on this stiff track looks ideal.
