Nick Shiambouros ends his current stint in the tipping chair with a selection from Market Rasen and Lingfield...
"The Skelton yard is in super form at present and will have this promising individual ready to go at the first time of asking"
12:30 Market Rasen - Oldgrangewood
I think Oldgrangewood could be ready to take this interesting novices' hurdle on his rules debut.
This gelding changed hands for 70,000GPB at the sales earlier this year after winning a maiden point in great style.
The Skelton yard is in super form at present and will have this promising individual ready to go at the first time of asking. He is trading at 5.24/1 on the exchange and I have backed him at this price.
Western Miller is the favourite at 3.3512/5.He beat Tickenwolf easily at Carlisle last month and should make a bold bid. He has to concede weight to his rivals, which could be his undoing when the chips are down.
Barney Dwan will attract support after finishing a promising third to Yanworth earlier this month. He will appreciate the longer trip but is short enough at 4.03/1.
12:40 Lingfield - Sir Roger Moore
Sir Roger Moore should go close in this maiden.
This gelding has kept some lofty company this season and even contested the Coventry at Royal Ascot where he finished down the field behind the smart Buratino.
He has run creditably in maiden company, and is probably best judged on his eighth behind Inlet Sea at Goodwood.
I think he will find this company a little easier and is reasonably priced at 5.04/1 on the exchange.
The most likely danger to the selection is Dark Shot. This colt was caught right on the line when finishing second to Stamp Hill at Chester in September.
He is trading at 2.6213/8 on the exchange which is a little thin in my opinion.
