Nick Shiambouros returns with a win selection from Chepstow and Chester...
"Eastern Impact should be difficult to beat in this Listed contest."
14:00 Chepstow - Knight Commander
Derby entrant Knight Commander is an interesting runner in this maiden.
This Sir Percy colt caught the eye on debut when finishing third to Montsarrat at Salisbury in June. He kept on really well in the closing stages, and finished the race with good energy.
He was a little disappointing on his next start at Ascot when finishing down the field behind Ray's The Bar. He went out like a light two furlongs from home and was well beaten.
I think he is worth another chance in this company, and his current price of 6.05/1 on the exchange is more than fair.
Fleeting Spirit will be a short price after showing promise on debut at Sandown last month. He got the hang of things in the closing stages and finished strongly. He is entitled to show improvement and must be respected.
15:15 Chester - Eastern Impact
Eastern Impact should be difficult to beat in this Listed contest.
This Bahamian Bounty gelding put in a much improved effort last time out when finishing third to Muhaarar in the July Cup at HQ. He had a real chance a furlong from home, but could only stay on at the one pace in the closing stages.
It is easy to get carried away with the literal form , but if he comes close to reproducing that effort he should easily get the job done.
He is currently trading at 2.915/8 on the exchange and I have backed him at this price.
The consistent Intransigent could give the selection a race. He finished second to Dusky Queen over this course last month, and won this race last year. The 6.05/1 on the exchange looks fair.
