Alan Dudman's two selections both won yesterday at advised prices of [5.0] and [6.0] at Carlisle. He is hoping for more success with a pair of bets at Wolverhampton on Monday...
"He hasn't won since his Northumberland Plate success back in 2014, but he ran some fair races on the turf in defeat last summer."
Atzeni to get it right on Double Up
Having tipped and backed Mazzini on Saturday; I knew my fate very early with him in two parts. He blew the start, and Andrea Atzeni got the lead on Raven's Lady - and they were not for catching.
Atzeni is lethal from the front when dictating, and he might just utilise those tactics on Double Up - who is the selection in the 18:15.
This sprinter has been consistent in very good races, and has held his three-figure rating since 2015. We have to forgive a poor run on All-Weather Finals Day, but he has plenty of credit in the bank in terms of good over bad.
He won over 6f back in November, but I think this horse is better over the 5f - and the drop back down today can really suit. Either with Atzeni pushing on from stall four, or receiving a nice tow into the race as he can be keen.
It's also good to see Wolowitz back after a spell in Hong Kong. He starts for Ed Walker today, so keep on eye on him for the future.
Fahey stayer should be backed from very low mark
The stayers are in action at 19:45; with interest from the jumping fraternity. The likes of Warren Greatrex, Nicky Richards and Nicky Henderson are all sending runners to Dunstall Park, but I am hoping this can go the way of the veteran Angel Gabrial.
He hasn't won since his Northumberland Plate success back in 2014, but he ran some fair races on the turf in defeat last summer.
His second in a well-run contest at York was a fine effort, and he travelled very well in that. He was also a little unlucky finishing second at Beverley from a mark of 85.
For this he is running from 80, which is his lowest mark since 2012.
