Alan Dudman returns for Monday's action, and he is hoping two horses can boost his profit at Lingfield...
"The 8yo was a little unlucky trapped out wide in a reasonable claimer at the track previously. He landed a race from 70 earlier in the winter, and from a mark of 75, he represents a solid runner who acts at the track."
Back Varsovian @ 12.011/1 in the 16:25 at Lingfield
Retrieve worth following in stayers' race
15:25 Lingfield - Back Retrieve @ 16.015/1
For a horse who had a spell performing in Group 1 company in Australia, Retrieve might be wondering what an earth he is doing running in these winter conditions with the cricket season fast approaching.
However, the trip of 2m should suit this veteran, and he can go close with a clear run on Monday.
Last time the 10yo looked a touch unlucky in a messy race over course and distance, and the winner of that stayed well away from all the trouble. He had previously gone close over 1m4f at the track - but he lost a shoe there, and didn't really have enough room to make a challenge.
He held a big rating from his Godolphin days, but there's not much point in clinging on to that. But a mark of 69 represents a horse who should be able to run to that figure at a track he likes.
Ivory veteran to go well
16:25 Lingfield - Back Varsovian @ 12.011/1
Varsovian is a handy Lingfield horse who has been running with credit this winter, and as a front-runner drawn in 5 for Monday, he can acquit himself well in the 7f handicap.
He is much happier on the Polytrack, so the switch from Wolverhampton will suit following his run in a seller last time. That was over 6f, but he'll enjoy stepping up an extra furlong today. The visor also comes out once again.
