Alan Dudman got his week off to a good start with an advised 5/1 winner at Catterick yesterday. He heads to Lingfield on Saturday in search of profit, and has a decent-priced pick in the big race at Lingfield.....

"My angle is the switch to the all-weather here. Two of his relations won on artificial surfaces, and he seems to travel fairly well in his races to suit this sort of style."

Back Red Label @ [11.0] in the 15:05 at Lingfield

14:35 Lingfield - Back Brother Tiger @ [4.0]

I am expecting a big run from Brother Tiger, and he has a lot in his favour for this 5f handicap. Take around [4.0] on him to win.

He hails from the David Griffiths yard, and he's a trainer in fine form of late. He's also a dab hand with these older sprinters, so don't be put off by the age of the 9yo lining-up here.

The speedster made his return to the track after a 125-day break in December at Southwell, and ran well despite missing the break slightly - the one thing you cannot afford to do on the Fibresand.

His latest effort was again at Southwell in the same grade as today (0-85), and he was just outstayed by a horse who preferred the stiffer finish.

Now fit, armed with a decent mark of 77, he'll appreciate the return to Lingfield as it really suits his style of racing, and Southwell isn't really his track. He has a big chance.

15:05 Lingfield - Back Red Label @ [11.0]

The big race of the day for Flat fans is the Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield, and I am happy to take a punt here on Marco Botti's Red Label.

The 4yo had the makings of a useful horse with Luca Cumani when landing a maiden on his second start, but he was switched to Jessica Harrington afterwards, and despite winning a race in beating Taj Mahal - it was perhaps a slightly underwhelming campaign. He then left Ireland to move to Newmarket.

In two runs for his new trainer Botti, he has raced in Group 2 and 3 company in Italy, with his last outing in November.

My angle is the switch to the all-weather here. Two of his relations won on artificial surfaces, and he seems to travel fairly well in his races to suit this sort of style.

Making his Polytrack debut with first-time cheekpieces, he is worth a go at decent odds.
