Hannon filly to improve and can trouble the favourite
17:50 Windsor - Back Kemble @ 4.03/1
The feature Listed race on the card has attracted just the four runners at 18:50, and I couldn't find a bet in that, so I'll be passing. However, one in the earlier Maiden at a price of 4.03/1 could be worth backing, and that is Richard Hannon's Kemble.
I thought there was a ton of promise on her debut at Newmarket behind a good one of Charlie Appleby's in Chasing Dreams. She could be Royal Ascot bound, but Kemble shaped with a fair bit of ability in behind after she missed the break. She was pretty green too with a flash of the tail during her tardy start.
She looked to have a bit of presence physically and she has a decent pedigree as a relation to Toronado. I expect her to come on a fair bit from her debut, and I would rather back her at a bigger price than the favourite Illusionist - who could be odds-on come post-time.
This race looks to have a bit of quality to it.
Drop in trip could be the answer for Heritage
18:20 Windsor - Back Heritage @ 4.03/1
The 18:20 is a qualifier for the Windsor Sprint Series Final, and I am backing the Clive Cox filly Heritage.
For me, she holds decent claims from a bit of form at Salisbury last term. She finished second to subsequent Listed scorer Manuela De Vega - and she also travelled very well that day only to be outstayed over 7f by a smart winner. Incidentally, she traded at 1.501/2 in that.
She also caught the eye at Newmarket - again travelling well over 7f.
Heritage drops down to 6f tonight and should be fitter following her reappearance at Salisbury last time. The filly shapes like she has a race in her from her current mark of 83.
