Bets Of The Day: Justice to recapture juvenile form at Kempton

Kempton stages a tremendous card on Wednesday night - and Alan has two picks
Kempton stages a tremendous card on Wednesday night - and Alan has two picks

Alan Dudman was out of luck yesterday with a 10/1 second at Sedgefield. Our man returns for Wednesday's action, and previews the two big races at Kempton in the evening...

"The 4yo is lightly-raced on the all-weather, and his canny trainer David Elsworth could potentially have a runner for the Finals Day. From a mark of 95 he has a big chance on his juvenile form."

18:55 Kempton - Chemical to take charge in all-weather feature

The Listed Wild Flower Stakes is a real treat for all-weather racing fans, and Chemical Charge is the pick at odds of 8.07/1.

It's been a curious career so far for the colt. Ralph Beckett initially trained him to win both of his juvenile races, and he looked the part with a bit of a swagger with the manner of those victories.

However, he had the whole of 2015 on the sidelines, but reappeared this term with three runs for Ger Lyons. He performed really well against subsequent Royal Hunt Cup winner Portage at the Curragh, and also finished second to Sir Isaac Newton over 10f afterwards.

He is now back with Beckett. So life hasn't been dull for the horse.

Granted this is a hard race with quality rivals, but he has some decent form in a light career, and is still completely unexposed despite a rating of 107. He has already shown he acts on the polytrack, and he looks made for 1m4f.

19:25 Kempton - Justice for Elsworth's Good?

The high quality action will continue into the evening at Kempton, and the 19:25 is a very warm sprint for this time of year - and a race that could see Justice Good go well at a price.

Initially chalked up at 16/1 on the Sportsbook on Tuesday night, he'll have to be on his 'A' game to beat Spring Loaded and a few others in this field, but hopefully he can build on a fine comeback run at Nottingham last time.

That sprint was a hot handicap at Colwick Park 21 days ago; and the winner broke the track record. Justice Good ran a corker in third, and had some decent horses behind. That was his first outing since May, and first since being gelded.

The 4yo is lightly-raced on the all-weather, and his canny trainer David Elsworth could potentially have a runner for the Finals Day. From a mark of 95 he has a big chance on his juvenile form.
