Bets Of The Day: Lacey can strike in the Uttoxeter finale
Alan went agonisingly close with the run of Takingrisks yesterday, but he is hoping for better with two win selections at Uttoxeter on Sunday...
"Lacey does well with recruits from other yards, and she made her debut for the team when last seen in a race at Ayr."
Smith's Silva to improve with new distance
14:40 Uttoxeter - Back Silva Escape @ [8.0]
The new trip of 3m could suit Silva Escape, and with his stamina, he is the bet at around [8.0] in the 14:40.
He was a fair sort on the Flat and went on to run well in a couple of novice hurdle races last season. He was a little unlucky in a contest at Newcastle.
Silva Escape returned to the track for his first run of the campaign last time out at Bangor, but he shaped as though he needed the run. He didn't perform too badly there at a big price.
Trained by Sue Smith, quite a few of her horses have needed their first run, so I expect this 5yo to come on plenty for that outing. There is plenty of scope from his rating of 121 to be a force in this race.
Brave Inca relation worth backing in mares' contest
15:40 Uttoxeter - Back Quri @ [4.0]
We'll stick with Uttoxeter again and a mare of great interest runs, and that's Tom Lacey's Quri.
Lacey does well with recruits from other yards, and she made her debut for the team when last seen in a race at Ayr. She was sent off a very short price but tasted defeat after making an error late on.
She steps up in trip and will try 3m for the first time on Sunday - and it's a distance she could improve at.
As a half-sister to the great Brave Inca, she is a player from a mark of 111 for her first start in a handicap.
