Low can hit the high notes at Beverley
15:00 Beverley - Back Low Profile @ 4.507/2
Once again with the forecast predicting rain for Beverley, it makes things a little tricky in terms of highlighting bets.
However, if the rain does hit the track and changes the going, the extra stamina of Low Profile could be crucial for this 1m4f handicap.
He is the selection, and he ran his best race of the season last time out at Pontefract from 68. He sat on the speed and there were no real excuses, but he could turn out to be a better horse than his current rating.
Last year he won easily at Wetherby over 1m6f for Roger Charlton - his stamina really came into play for that race, so he certainly won't lack for staying power for this stiff track.
Bottle primed for a decent run at a nice price
17:00 Beverley - Back Alotabottle @ 9.08/1
The second bet of the day on the Westwood runs in the 5f sprint, and Alotabottle is another who will certainly stay a bit further than the minimum.
He goes for trainer Declan Carroll, whose runners I like as they often like to force the pace and be positive. Alotabottle can certainly do that if he is sharp enough out of the stalls from 6.
This is an apprentice race and Zak Wheatley claims 7lb and is fairly inexperienced, but he has scored three times and he won for the trainer at Thirsk recently.
Alotabottle caught the eye on his debut last term at Pontefract and produced a personal best at Newcastle on his final start of 2018. He has been gelded since and he starts out today from a handicap mark of 64, which looks more than winnable.
