Bets Of The Day: Smith and Cook to bag another win at Sedgefield

Alan Dudman is hoping a pair of course specialists can score in the north east on Tuesday

Alan enjoyed his third winner of the week yesterday, and heads to Sedgefield on Tuesday with a couple of veterans that can be a force in the mud....

"He stays and jumps well, and is relatively tough in the mud. He's another who has course and distance winning form, and is well treated from 96 to score in a weak affair."

Back Bennys Well @ 9.08/1 in the 14:45 at Sedgefield

12:10 Sedgefield - Veteran to gain compo over fences

This is the sort of race I love - and it's the equine version of Last Of The Summer Wine.

With some old-timers in the line-up, I'm prepared to give a chance to Henry Hogarth's veteran Pamak D'Airy. He may be the oldest swinger in this particular town at 13 years of age, but he goes well fresh, acts in the mud, likes the track and is absolutely thrown in on his form last term.

He races off 87 today in a 0-100 handicap chase, yet he finished runner-up last December at Newcastle in a 0-120 from a rating of 104. The obvious one here is the unexposed Sky Full Of Stars - but the market has found him unsurprisingly at around 3.02/1. Whilst Rupert The Bear is potentially one to lay at a short price in-play.

14:45 Sedgefield - Bennys to come up the hill to score

I do like backing Sue Smith horses in the north (as you can probably tell on here). They are no-nonsense from the front, and Danny Cook is one of the most under-rated jockeys around - especially when making the running.

The duo team up with the slightly quirky Bennys Well on Tuesday, who has all the credentials to win a rather bad race here. He stays and jumps well, and is relatively tough in heavy ground. He's another who has course and distance winning form, and is well treated from 96 to score in a weak affair.

Many of the Smith horses find plenty in front, and this veteran is best when dominating. He's another from the yard that shaped like he needed his reappearance.

This horse also has a massive price in-play win to his name. He landed a pot last term at Market Rasen when hitting 900.0899/1 in the run. A fraction of that will do for me today.

Tuesday's Recommended Bets

Back Pamak D'Airy 0.5pt @ 7.06/1 in the 12:10 at Sedgefield
Back Bennys Well 0.5pt @ 9.08/1 in the 14:45 at Sedgefield
