Bets Of The Day: Two to back at Uttoxeter on Sunday

Evan Williams trained Alan's second selection of the day at Uttoxeter

It's off to Uttoxeter for Alan Dudman on Sunday, and he has picked out two bets at decent prices for the afternoon action...

"He is another serial loser, but he showed enough at Ffos Las over this sort of trip to be of interest in a very winnable race."

Back Sutter's Mill @ 7.06/1 in the 16:45 at Uttoxeter

West's stayer the first choice

16:10 Uttoxeter - Back Final Choice @ 10.09/1

The 3m handicap hurdle at 16:10 looks fairly open, but the price of 10.09/1 has nudged me towards the Adam West-trained Final Choice.

I often get the impression that West's horses can be underrated in the betting, and I am hoping that's the case with Final Choice, who won at the track earlier in the year over a shorter distance at 2m4f.

Today's trip at 3m should suit, especially judged on his latest run at Market Rasen. That was on good ground and he went down by five lengths over the 3m there against a progressive rival, and he was outpaced. He could appreciate the switch to an easier surface for Sunday.

He is a stayer on the Flat too, and there could be a bit more to come from him at the distance. With ten runners, he can also be considered in the Place market.

Mill can return to action with a win

16:45 Uttoxeter: Back Sutter's Mill @ 7.06/1

The 16:45 is down at the basement level, and two opponents are certainly beatable in the shape of Sussex Road and The Jugopolist.

I was half interested in Howlongisafoot when I first looked at the race, as he has dropped down to a very winnable mark these days to 73. He has the cheekpieces back on for good measure, However, I suspect he wants better ground and I may have to swerve him, but he is certainly treated to win.

With that in mind, I am going to chance Sutter's Mill.

He is another serial loser, but he showed enough at Ffos Las over this sort of trip to be of interest in a very winnable race. He's by Gold Well, and anything by that jumps' stallion in my opinion stays, and stamina could win the day in this.

From a rating near 100 in 2017, he is down to 97 and has the 5lb claim of Mitch Bastyan too.
