Alan has picked out two jumpers to follow at Sedgefield on Thursday

Alan is hoping to fire in a couple of winners to end his tipping stint with two win selections at Sedgefield for Thursday...

"Micky Hammond's Dontdelay displayed abundant stamina when winning over 3m at Hexham in the mud just before Christmas."

Back Dontdelay @ 6.05/1 in the 17:00 at Sedgefield

Groveman to stay well for O'Keeffe

14:05 Sedgefield - Back Groveman @ 5.204/1

Yesterday didn't quite go according to plan; but the win of Desert Ruler took Jedd O'Keeffe's record to 12123 from his last five runners. The Yorkshire handler sends Groveman to Sedgefield on Thursday, and the stiff finish at the track could play to his strengths.

He won a juvenile at Catterick, with stamina very much his forte as he was ill at ease at that speedy venue. It was a case again of him being a bit tapped for toe when staying on to finish second at Doncaster last time.

Groveman should have a pace to run at here with Ingleby Hollow (who bolted up at the track by 15 lengths when last seen) likely to make the running. Groveman should stay well and he acted on quick ground on the Flat, so the good surface should suit the hurdler.

Stamina test to suit Hammond stayer

17:00 Sedgefield - Back Dontdelay @ 6.05/1

Micky Hammond's Dontdelay displayed abundant stamina when winning over 3m at Hexham in the mud just before Christmas, and that should stand him in good stead for today's unique distance of 3m3f.

That was a brutal race in bottomless ground in December, so it was fairly remarkable he won that after a break of 581 days. He backed up with another run just six days later at Wetherby where he finished fourth. He might have bounced, but a bad blunder in the race didn't help his cause.

This contest looks very winnable with very few convincing profiles. Dontdelay isn't exactly a 'tour de force' with his basement rating of 90, but on that Hexham run he will stay forever, and that gives him a chance.
