Alan Dudman tipped up a couple of double figure handicap winners at Royal Ascot, and he returns for his latest stint in the Bets of the Day chair starting on Monday...
"The winner of the Haydock race (Fiesta De Vega) looks a reasonable prospect, and this horse can be competitive in this class."
Margarson's Guest looks an ideal candidate at Windsor
18:30 Windsor - Back Spirited Guest @ BSP
Spirited Guest ran quite a nice race at Chelmsford last time out and he looks a good each-way bet considering he was priced up at 11/1 on the Sportsbook last night and a juicy 14.5 on the Exchange. He travels like a horse who could outrun those odds.
The run at the Essex track recently was an interesting one over the 5f there. He got taken off his feet a bit in the early stages, but he was back on the bridle when he made up ground at the halfway point, and he was travelling far better than the eventual winner Tone The Barone with 2f to go.
He had to be switched too which didn't help his cause, but it was a clear indication he should be winning races from his current mark of 77.
The step up in distance should suit him and his trainer George Margarson's horses haven't been running too badly of late without winning.
Godolphin handicap runner set to get off the mark
20:00 Windsor - Back My Vision @ BSP
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor sends My Vision to Windsor on Monday night for his handicap debut, and there's a chance he can improve again off a lowly rating of 73.
It's not a bad little race over 1m4f, with John Gosden and Roger Varian both with runners, so I am hoping that their horses can make the market for our selection, who was available to back at 9/2 yesterday.
He looked a hothead on his debut last year (but with some promise), so it was good to see him return in a pleasing fashion at Haydock recently following his gelding operation. He finished second there and shaped well over 1m2f. He stayed on nicely to suggest tonight's trip will suit.
The winner of the Haydock race (Fiesta De Vega) looks a reasonable prospect, and this horse can be competitive in this class.
