Mour can do it again at Epsom
15:40 Epsom - Back C'Est No Mour @ 6.05/1
The Amateur Riders' Derby at Epsom is the race to start Monday's selections, and the handicapper has given a chance to Peter Hedger's C'Est No Mour.
He is partnered by Simon Walker, and the pair have history in this race; winning it in 2017 and finishing third in 2018. In fact, he was a little unlucky in the contest 12 months ago as the ground had turned soft and that was against him. He met trouble too late on, and his hold-up style wasn't suited to that particular renewal as those with a more forward ride that day were at an advantage.
The sunny conditions will suit, as he enjoys decent ground. He hasn't been running too badly either, albeit without a victory this term.
Indeed, he performed well at Windsor earlier in the campaign, but he was a little outpaced and Epsom suits him far better.
From 76, he has a big chance, and with the visor on for the first time, he looks the bet at around 6.05/1 on the Exchange.
Ripon specialist has big chance in the Rowels
16:30 Ripon - Back Fayez @ 4.507/2
Fayez is enjoying a tremendous year and he bids for his fifth victory of the season in the Ripon Rowels at 16:30.
The focus will no doubt be on Roger Varian's Ibraz, and he is the obvious favourite as he steps up in trip on Monday following a good second behind Qaysar at Newmarket.
He was a little too short last night on the Sportsbook at 15/8, and I would rather take the bigger odds on Fayez who arrives off the back of a superb handicap win at the Glorious Goodwood meeting last time, and such was the style with the way he travelled, I wouldn't like to be laying him.
He drops down in distance, but he is a pretty adaptable horse and has enough speed for the trip. However, he often needs a bit of luck in-running with his hold-up style. Decent ground suits and he does go well at Ripon so has plenty in his favour.
