Yesterday's non-runner Iskabeg Lane meant the hopes rested on Petit Ganache - who unfortunately raced very lazily at Hexham and ran poorly.

I am going to throw in a bonus selection for Monday with a cheap lay on Saeed bin Suroor's Quiet Place.

Three times she has ran, and she has finished second three times with defeats in-play at 1.101/10, 1.738/11 and 1.501/2.

The Godolphin horse sets the standard, quite easily, but she is dropping down to 5f tonight, and I am not sure if that's what is needed judged on her Lingfield run last time. We can throw in a price very short in the hope of getting matched - as there are potential challengers with Sermon and Dazzling Des in opposition.

Vardy can get on the scoresheet at Windsor on Monday

19:40 Windsor - Back Fox Vardy @ 5.04/1

Trainer Martyn Meade enjoyed Group 1 success at Ascot with Advertise, but he also won with a very nice prospect at Newmarket on Saturday with Cadre Du Noir. Meade had closed down his Manton base for a short time earlier in the season, a decision which has proved to be the correct call, as the yard have bounced back firing.

That makes the bet on Fox Vardy on handicap debut more enticing considering he shaped pretty well on his seasonal reappearance at Salisbury last time out.

He still looked a bit inexperienced, and that was quite a test in soft ground presented with a stiff 1m4f.

Fox Vardy is bound to come on for the experience (and fitness), and I am happy to back him at around 6.05/1 on handicap debut. It's a fair mark from 77 this evening and Silvestre De Sousa rides.

Consistent Poet the one to back at Wolves

Back Street Poet @ 5.04/1 in the 20:00 at Wolverhampton

Street Poet is a very consistent runner at this sort of low level, and he should go well at his favourite track at around the 5.04/1 mark.

I'm going with the all-weather for the final selection of the night, and Street Poet is a horse we know saves his best for Dunstall Park.

He scored over slightly further at the track last time out in 0-65 grade, and he's in exactly the same class again but with a slight drop in trip. That should be ideal as he's a front runner drawn on the inside, so he should get a nice positive ride. There will be no excuses on that front.

I noted the horse travelled very nicely at Wolves two starts back when he met some trouble and finished second. Overall, he's consistent, and should run to his mark in the low 60s.
