Dan Skelton runs the temperamental Arthamint, in this novices handicap chase over three miles one furlong. He will have to carry top weight but has been in decent form over fences, he finished fourth on his last outing over two and a half mile but won at Warwick over three miles on his penultimate start. The race before that he won at Lingfield only to be disqualified after his rider David England weighed in light. England had weighed in at 11st 7lb having weighed out at 11st 9lb, and was suspended for three days while Skelton was fined £750.

England is back on board this afternoon and he knows he might be in for a tough ride as Arthamint has a reputation for being a bit of a handful, don't be surprised or concerned if he is taken to post early - its just his way. However, once the race starts the eight-year-old is settling better and despite having to give weight away all round, I think connections will be disappointed if he can't beat these off what looks a fair mark of 102.

Godolphin won this class two handicap last year with winter derby winner Tryster and they are going for it again with Razor Wind. He has been off the course for almost nine months but was last seen winning at Doncaster on good to firm ground over one mile two furlongs, he also has winning form over course and distance from his only previous visit to Wolverhampton.

This Dubawi gelding was an 85,000gns foal who is never far away, from his nine runs, he has won three and been placed in five. Adam Kirby is reunited with Razor Wind today, having won on him on both his all weather victories, here and at Lingfield. He has done well after lengthy layoffs before but none as long as this one, so fitness is the only concern, we have to assume the Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby will have him ready.
