Palmer's runner can get his act together at Lingfield
12:35 Lingfield - Back Almufti @ 7.06/1
Talkofgold couldn't quite get the win yesterday with a second. And that sums up how this year has gone with the amount of seconds. She really ought to be renamed Talkofsilver.
Hopefully we can get a couple of selections over the line before the year is out, starting with Lingfield's AW fixture.
Almufti is an interesting runner for the second race on the card at "Leafy" as he clearly has been held in a bit of regard since winning as a 2yo quite impressively around Kempton.
It hasn't gone according to plan with him however, and he has been hard work in races when often keen and sweating. He was gelded in the summer and had wind surgery, so hopefully his trainer Hugo Palmer can piece him back together.
He disappointed last time out at Wolverhampton, a race in which he was too wide and hung.
But he's been in some deeper races in the past and he is also down to a mark of 82, so he is very well handicapped considering he has been rated 93 on the turf.
Lady can dance to victory on the all-weather
13:40 Lingfield - Back Lady Dancealot @ 6.05/1
Backers of Lady Dancealot over the last 12 months will be fairly familiar with one or two unlucky runs. Her style is to come late off a pace and power home, so hopefully we can steer away from all the trouble for Monday.
She's actually been holding her form quite well in some good races, and she's definitely worth upgrading following her effort in 0-105 company last time out at Kempton. There was no gallop and it turned into a tactical affair that suited the sprinters up with the speed. Which was of no use to her, and she was quite keen too.
Lady Dancealot landed a nice pot at Chelmsford last month, and that was a stronger grade than today's.
Hayley Turner rides, and she'll have to switch her off from stall eight and tuck inside to finish hopefully with a flourish.
This race is also an EXTRA PLACES SPECIAL contest on the Sportsbook.
