Alan Dudman signs off for his week and is hoping to end on a high note with a Dean Ivory horse running at Kempton on Thursday...

"He shaped really well at the Essex venue in his latest run, and the time was a good one for the grade. Berthed in 1 this evening, he can go close."

Back Kadrizzi @ BSP in the 19:00 at Kempton

Consistent filly worth backing for a place

18:30 Kempton - Back Roman Spinner @ BSP in Place market

We have a chance to play the Place market here with Rae Guest's Roman Spinner.

The Place market has been nominated because the big danger and likeliest winner is Simon Crisford's Jadeyra. She bolted up at Southwell last time, and her trainer is operating at a very healthy strike-rate at the moment. I fear the others could be playing for minor honours. But she is likely to be short enough in the betting.

I have been waiting for Roman Spinner to run over 1m, and tonight I get my chance to back her at the trip, as she goes up in distance after series of solid runs over 6f and 7f. The filly certainly shaped like tonight's extra yardage will play to her strengths.

She is honest, consistent and has a decent record at the Sunbury venue; her CV at Kempton reads 2121.

Ivory can enjoy some success with Kadrizzi

19:00 Kempton - Back Kadrizzi @ BSP

Trainer Dean Ivory has been quiet for much of the calendar year, but I get the feeling a few of his horses (and ones that could be well handicapped) could be running into form.

Ivory trains in a wonderful part of the world in Radlett. I remember playing cricket against Radlett a long time ago and got well and truly bamboozled by a spinner who had played some county cricket. Hopefully, Ivory's Kadrizzi will have more luck.

He's an interesting horse, who could be chucked in from his mark of 75. Back in 2017 he was rated 102, so he's spent a long time in the wilderness.

With a break of 261 days this year, his two comeback efforts at Chelmsford recently were promising. Trapped wide in both, he didn't have a lot of luck. He shaped really well at the Essex venue in his latest run, and the time was a good one for the grade.

Berthed in 1 this evening, he can go close.
