Nick Shiambouros returns with a couple of selections from Lingfield and Kempton...
"She kept on willingly inside the final furlong, despite showing signs of inexperience"
Back Glitter Queen at 6.25/1 in the 15:40 at Lingfield
Queen to reign
15:40 Lingfield - Glitter Queen
Glitter Queen is my idea of the winner of this maiden.
This filly created a favourable impression on debut when finishing third to Badrah at Kempton last month. She kept on willingly inside the final furlong, despite showing signs of inexperience. This was a promising first effort and should move forward. I think she is open to a fair bit of improvement, and is reasonably priced at 5.59/2 on the exchange.
Wise Eagle heads the market at 3.259/4. She finished a creditable fourth to Made In Italy over this course last month, and should have more to offer. This looks like a competitive race, and is way too short for me.
Partridge to bounce back
16:55 Kempton - Partridge
Partridge is well worth an interest in this interesting contest.
This filly was a tad disappointing when finishing third to Time To Strike at Chelmsford last month. She held every chance a furlong from home, but was easily brushed aside by the impressive winner. This was her first run since last July and may have needed it. She has some decent form in the book, and was not totally disgraced behind Raffle Prize in the Queen Mary. She will be tough to beat if she can bounce back to her best. At present she is trading at 5.79/2.
Lua De Mel is the short priced favourite at 2.526/4 on the exchange. She is unbeaten in two starts but has to defy a double penalty. She will make a bold bid from the front, but I cannot have her at this price.
