Bets Of The Day: Qurbaan to make it a good Friday at Lingfield

Alan Dudman had three winners to earn a small profit from his last stint, and he's back for seven days and looks forward to a superb day of racing at Lingfield on Good Friday...

"Like Ennaad, the selection is already a Listed winner, in fact he's bagged a couple already. He beat the 110-rated Sovereign Debt at Deauvile back in December 2016, and scored in a Fast-Track Qualifier in February at Cagnes-Sur-Mer - and that was fairly comfortable."

14:40 Lingfield - Realtra can bounce back

Roger Varian's Realtra didn't fire for whatever reason out in Meydan, but she can bounce back here with a decent effort in the Fillies' And Mares' Championship contest.

I'm happy to forgive any below-par effort out in Dubai, especially as she had a year off the track prior to her Deauville victory in December 2016. Perhaps the quick turnaround and the travelling caused her to run quite poorly.

However, she's a decent mare with some quality form in the book from 2015. She won a Group 3 at Doncaster over 7f as a three-year-old, and subsequently performed with credit in the Group 1 Sun Chariot behind Esoterique - and she was probably disadvantaged by the way that race developed. She wasn't beaten far in that either.

She has Polytrack form and is a bit of a specialist at this trip. On official ratings she is only 2lb off the 6/5 favourite Muffri'Ha, and I like the angle of the first-time blinkers just to sharpen her up following Meydan. She'll have to overcome a wide draw though, but she is a 13/2 chance.

15:40 Lingfield - French raider worth a second look

The 6/4 favourite Ennaadd has a big chance on form, but he's too short to back at that price. I'd rather take the 13/2 Sportsbook odds on the French raider Qurbaan.

Like Ennaad, the selection is already a Listed winner, in fact he's bagged a couple already. He beat the 110-rated Sovereign Debt at Deauvile back in December 2016, and scored in a Fast-Track Qualifier in February at Cagnes-Sur-Mer - and that was fairly comfortable.

With just two runs on turf (and no victories), he looks simply a horse for the artificial surfaces. By Speightstown, and a dam who threw up a horse who was better on the all-weather, Qurbaan unsurprisingly has excelled with five wins on the Polytrack - and there should be more progress in the Francoise Rohaut-trained runner.

The negative is the draw (in ten), but often these French raiders (and often the German ones) are overpriced. I'd prefer him in a low berth obviously, but he's a big enough price for the risk.
