Sanaadh can fly home late in winnable handicap
13:05 Lingfield - Back Sanaadh @ 4.407/2
It was good to get a couple of winners in at Lingfield yesterday, and there's no reason to deviate from the Flat action as we focus on the two best races on the card with our bets for the afternoon.
Bet one is an often unlucky horse in the shape of Sanaadh.
The party trick of this handicapper is to fly home late, which is something Lingfield can lend itself too. He can be ridden along, but I can easily envisage this horse picking up strongly off the bend.
He met trouble in two big handicaps on the turf in the summer. He charged home from a wide draw at Ascot, and he also found problems in the Bunbury Cup.
This should be easier, and he could also be worth throwing a higher price In-Play to get matched on.
Elsworth can get on the scoresheet again
13:40 Lingfield - Back Entangling @ 3.211/5
There's a bit of quality on the all-weather too at 13:40, and whilst it's a small field with seven declared, it looks a fair event.
David Elsworth done the column a favour yesterday with Lady Dancealot winning, and Entangling surely has to go close for this 1m4f race?
His latest CD victory came in a stronger grade and he travelled well in that, along with a nice turn of foot. The assessor has raised him 3lb, but he could have more improvement in him judged on that win. He ran very well behind Victory Bond in a good-looking handicap on his previous start.
Indeed, he looks the ideal sort of Lingfield type with "one burst" in the straight.
He's a costly purchase and has been mentioned as a possibility for races like the Easter Classic here next year.
Thanks for reading in 2019, and happy new year to you all.
