It's the start of a brand new week and Alan Dudman has a double-figure price selection at Carlisle and a sprinter who makes a quick reappearance in the evening....
"He drops to 0-65 here and could be happier with the extra furlong. So I would be kicking myself if I let him go and he wins."
Back Gowanbuster @ 4.904/1 in the 20:00 at Newcastle
Cook to serve up a winner with well-treated chaser
16:05 Carlisle - Back Blakemount @ 10.09/1
Blakemount runs from a career low mark over fences on Monday, and he is nominated as the first bet on a rather good card at Carlisle.
It's the Sue Smith/Danny Cook axis here, and I'm expecting a good, positive ride from the front, as Carlisle really suits those that like to get on with things.
He was disappointing on his last run, but he's had a break since then. With track form, stamina and ground all in his favour, he should go well at decent odds from a mark of 120.
It's Buster take two in the north east
20:00 Newcastle - Back Gowanbuster @ 4.904/1
It's Gowanbuster again for Monday, and the sprinter makes a quick reappearance following his effort at Newcastle on Friday night. He can make amends for that run and he goes back to 6f tonight.
He dropped to 5f three days ago, but he was too keen and never really looked happy through the race. He has made the running before, so at least there was an excuse for finishing fourth as he was dropped off the pace - and those tactics don't really suit the horse.
I backed him then, and that was a 0-70, he drops to 0-65 here and could be happier with the extra furlong. So I would be kicking myself if I let him go and he wins.
He's still well handicapped from 66 so hopefully the losses will be recouped.
