Bets Of The Day: Crowley and Burrows the combination to follow for Friday

Ascot racetrack
Alan is off to Berkshire with his best bet of the day on Friday

It's the turn of Dudman to take over from fellow Alan (Thompson) for the next seven days, and he has a bet for the Chester Cup and one at Ascot for Friday....

"It's a step up today against more experienced horses, and this will be his first run in a handicap from 95. Clearly, this expensive son of War Front could be a better than a handicapper."

Conditions could play to the strengths of Fun Mac

15:35 Chester - Back Fun Mac @ 12/1 Sportsbook price

From a personal viewpoint, Chester hasn't been a happy hunting ground this week, so I am hoping to change that on Friday.

Today's first bet is Hughie Morrison's Fun Mac at 12/1 on the Sportsbook, and it's also a PROMO race if you are playing on the Sportsbook.

The 8yo will appreciate all the rain the track had on Thursday, and I can understand why he was cut a couple of points last night with that in mind.

He ticks plenty of boxes. Drawn low in four is a rather obvious one, but he's dropped down to a really attractive mark these days of 93. That's some way lower than his placed efforts in this race in 2018 when running second to Magic Circle from 101, and third to Montaly in 2017 from 102.

Running following a break is no negative either.

Exciting prospect goes handicapping for Burrows

15:45 Ascot - Back Habub @ 4.507/2

We don't have to wait too long until the second bet of the day with Habub at Ascot.

He looks one of the most exciting horses on the card on Friday given his profile and Group 1 entry in the Diamond Jubilee.

His two efforts to date have been most impressive on the all-weather. He won with plenty to spare on debut at Chelmsford, and scored readily by making all the running again to win by five lengths at Lingfield last time. Whilst that wasn't much of a race, he smashed that field easily with Jim Crowley on board (pictured below).

It's a step up today against more experienced horses, and this will be his first run in a handicap from 95. Clearly, this expensive son of War Front could be a better than a handicapper.

Trainer Owen Burrows has been in good nick too.
