14:30 Ascot - Tutu Nguru
One filly that I think will go close in this outstanding race is Tutu Nguru.
This filly by Breeders Cup winner Blame was most impressive on debut when thrashing Lola Princess at Lingfield last month. She missed the break, but shot to the lead inside the final furlong and pulled clear to win with plenty in hand. I immediately penciled her in for this race and I am delighted that she is going to post.
I think she has scope for considerable improvement and is generously priced at 13.5 on the exchange.
This is by no means a one horse race and there are plenty of dangers to the selection. Wesley Ward is represented with Back At The Ranch and Laxfield Road and both could run well. My preference is for the latter who demolished a field of maidens at Keenland in April. She should be out of the gates like a rocket and may take some pegging back.
15:40 Ascot - Cyclogenisis & Tiggy Wiggy
I rarely back two horses in one race, but I am going to make an exception in this instance.
US shipper Cyclogenisis could run well at a massive price in this fascinating contest. This Stormy Atlantic colt is unbeaten in three starts and is not here to make up the numbers. He bolted up in a Listed event on Tapeta at Presque Isle Downs last month and thoroughly deserves to take his chance.
George Weaver does very well with his turf runners and is an excellent conditioner. John Velazquez is a world class rider and will give the selection every assistance from the saddle.
He must be backed at the current price of 44.043/1 on the exchange.
Tiggy Wiggy from the Richard Hannon yard will definitely appreciate the return to six furlongs.
She finished third in the 1,000 Guineas at HQ last month and clearly did not get home. She has tactical speed and should sit in just behind the leading group. She will love the faster ground and is well worth an investment at 9.08/1 on the exchange.
Hootenanny will be all the rage with Ryan Moore in the irons, but represents little value at around 4.57/2 in this ultra competitive race.
16:20 Ascot - Found
This race revolves around Found who should provide Moore with another winner at the meeting.
This beautifully bred filly by Galileo is out of Lockinge winner Red Evie. She only just failed to peg back Pleascach in the Irish 1000gns last month after meeting interference. I think she will be difficult to beat and is fairly priced at 2.546/4 on the exchange.
The obvious dangers are Lucida and Ervedya who may give the selection most to do.
